2018 Landlord Training is a Northside-Southside Collaboration

The rain did not deter attendance at the June 19, Landlord Training on Nuisance Abatement and Evictions, at the O'Fallon Park YMCA. Thank you to all who braved the storm to hear attorney Julie Ostrom speak about the eviction process, Susan Phelps, city counselor, discuss the role of the city’s Problem Property team, and Rachel Greathouse, of Brightside, share options for tenant’s abandoned belongings. On July 17, the Landlords’ topic is Tenant Selection and Fair Housing. Learn about the purpose and history of Fair Housing, the protected classes, and recent case studies from the Equal Housing Opportunity Council of St. Louis. Hear a review of best practices for attracting good tenants, benefits of tenant screening and key components of professional screening from, Ella Gross of Tower Grove Neighborhoods CDC, manager of MyHomeScreen.org. The July 17 event is at the MO Botanical Garden. Register here.
