2014 was a remarkable year for Tower Grove Neighborhoods Community Development Corporation (TGNCDC).  The 2014 TGNCDC operating year was filled with challenges but supported by hundreds of residents/stakeholders in our service area, an experienced and dedicated staff and an engaged board of directors.  In addition to combining the operations of three community development corporations into the Tower Grove Neighborhoods CDC, TGNCDC successfully administered 5 activities related to $225,000 in Community Block Grant funds. The activities included a Better Block event, Landlord Training seminars, an Energy Conservation seminar, Neighborhood Ownership Model creation and implementation in Tower Grove South, and a Neighborhood Beautification seminar with 5 beautification projects.  The work also included maneuvering through new administrative processes and meeting/exceeding program outputs and proving outcomes. TGNCDC held 71 public meetings which resulted in 922 attendees, not including between 300-400 visitors to the Better Block event, and 1097 hours of participation. TGNCDC also logged 1029 volunteers for neighborhood improvement projects which resulted in 1642 volunteer hours.

The award from CDA is a step forward to highlight the City of Saint Louis's effort to build relationships with CDBG funded community organizations and to show how working together affects positive change in Saint Louis City.

The award will be presented on April 8, 2015 at 6PM at the Jewel Box in Forest Park.
